Scottish Provident: It’s better to give than receive…

This year Scottish Provident celebrates its 175th birthday.  But as we all know it’s better to give than receive.  So here’s what we’re giving you and your clients…

The Scottish Provident Self Assurance Plan - an even better product…

At Scottish Provident we work hard to continually review and improve our propositions to meet your clients' needs and aim to offer greater relevance and value by providing protection which covers modern day illnesses and treatment.

Here’s some recent enhancements:

  • More ABI+ definitions

We have always covered multiple sclerosis but our definition has just got better. We pay out after 3 months of persisting impairment rather than 6, making this an ABI+ definition.

  • More additional covered conditions

We’ve also added 2 new and unique additional covered conditions* to our critical illness benefit at no extra cost:

-       Accident hospitalisation cover

-       Third degree burns – covering between 10% and 20% of the body’s surface area or between 25% and 50% of the surface area of the face.

* The maximum payout is the lesser of £15,000 or 20% of the critical illness sum assured

Support your clients through a claim by finding the definition that applies to them

That is one of the many uses of our online definitions search tool.  It is interactive and a quick way to keep up to date with our definitions as they stand today and through history.

The search tool has been updated to include all the new definitions and includes the following features:

  • All of our definitions since 1999 categorised by product type
  • Definitions can be filtered by year or, alternatively, by a single year to display all definitions available in that time period
  • A keyword search to filter definitions further
  • Full definition wording and an explanation of what the term means
  • A clear indication of which definitions have been introduced recently.
